The third Workshop INTRUS 2000 took place in Dubna on September 19-22, 2000. It was organized by "Demos-Internet" Co. and "Contact Co.".

The program of the workshop was devoted to the problems, that became traditional:

• Organization, juridical and economical questions. Relations with state and licensing bodies.
• Telecommunication environment. New ideas, new technologies of access and information transfer.
• Services in Internet.
• Informational environment. Informational technologies. Informational services.
• Internet for business and business in Internet. Electronic commerce, credit cards in russian Internet.
• Hosting and collocation of web-servers, applications and equipment, quality of services (QoS).
• Internet and telephony. Competition and/or partnership.
• Investments in russian Internet.

The following organizations took part in the workshop:

Channel operators - WorldCom, Cable&Wireless, Telia, Comet and others. Software and hardware vendors - Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Newbridge Network Systems, Novell and others. Internet Providers - Komkor-TV, Zenon N.S.P., Global Ukraine, Providers from Moscow region, Saint-Petersburg, Pskov, Saratov, Alma-Ata and other towns and the biggest content-provider - Rambler.

The chief moments of this event are:

The first: Intrus 2000 took place under the sign of the historic anniversary. On September 19, 1990 "Demos" Co. registered domain .SU, that laid the foundation of Internet in the then Soviet Union. (the details you can find on www.ru/10yearssu)

The second: The workshop INTRUS 2000 traditionally gathers representatives of the companies, that actively work on the market of Internet services. The workshop INTRUS 2000 is held to discuss current state, tendencies and prospects of this market. According to the opinion of the companies' representatives, that took part in the workshop, such workshop of the partners and competitors, who have similar tasks and problems, helps to clarify and discuss the vital questions.

The third: reports of the workshop were made in the form of the Company report on its vision or way of the solution of this or that task in the sphere of Internet or IP technology. Such form of reports redounded to the active discussion during the workshop and in the backstage talks, that were quite productive according to the opinion of the participants.

The forth: the very important moment, that should be marked, is that regional providers' representatives, that met with providers from Moscow, could openly discuss questions of relationships, prospects in regions and further ways of development.

The fifth: working and in the same time friendly atmosphere of the conference promotes to set up contacts between specialists of the companies, who solve identical problems.

And lastly: traditionally good weather of the "indian summer" in one of the most beautiful towns of the Moscow region, Dubna, situated on the banks of the Volga river, helps for the duration of the workshop to forget the rough workdays and to go in the atmosphere of the search and originality.
